all of us have a photo or photos that are special to us for one reason or another, so special that you almost want to sleep with them in your hand so if there was a fire you could bolt out of the door with them! I got to visit my dad who I haven't seen in a long time the other day, and my best friend, the wonderful gracie took a few pictures of us, and i love them to death. sometimes I get a little caught up in the perfection of a photo (when shooting a couple or a wedding) that I forget to remember something. yes, people hire me to capture things artfully, professionally, and with pizazz! but what is above all most important is WHAT is being captured. my job is to fuse my subjects and my art into one photo, and to have it last forever in time as a sentimental treasure for them and their families. i am so thankful, especially this time of year for my family, my friends, and my 'job'. it is so important for us to count our blessings and not take anything for granted, and to continually be content where we are and mindful of those less fortunate than us. here are a couple silly photos of my dad and me below, I hope all of you readers get to spend time with your loved ones this Christmas, soaking up every second with them and enjoying it to the fullest :)

gracie and i did a fun shoot of a beautiful family this afternoon. it is so much fun hanging out with families all together, i especially love little kids they don't really understand pictures yet so they just do whatever they want, its awesome. anyways, here a pic that stood out, more to come soon :)

lyrical gems for a monday :)

this is a little random for a post, but it is MY blog so anything goes, right?! I was driving to work today, and feeling a little sad for NO reason at all. when this happens I immediately put on some uplifting music because music can change your emotions quicker than you can say 'Bob's your uncle'! I slipped in a CD and listen to two songs in particular that I like from a band called mewithoutyou.

Here are a few parts of different songs that stood out to me, and totally got my focus back where it should be to start off my week- on Jesus :)
